Despite having selected outlook for the email notifications I am not seeing messages arrive. SMS, What's app all work but emails don't. I have Outlook for ANDROID on my mobile Version. 3.0.8 (304). Any suggestions?

Thanks for getting back @Willy76! It's pretty weird that you're receiving Outlook calendar reminders but not email notifications. Please try to choose this app as a third-party instead of an email app.

Welcome to the Community @Willy76! Thanks for the details that you've mentioned. In this case, I would like you to confirm that you have linked Gmail with Outlook, when you're choosing email notifications you only have the gmail or email app, so you will need to have them connected in order to receive them.

You can also double check the steps on this article My Fitbit device isn't receiving notifications from my phone

Hope this helps. I'll be around if you need further assistance.

Hi, I have two options in my device notification settings, Gmail or Outlook. I've selected outlook but no emails arrive.

How can we resolve this?

Thank you for getting back @Willy76. It's good to hear that you have the two options. Have you tried this procedure for devices that aren't receiving notifications?

Hello, yes tried the solutions. I get SMS, Whatsapp, Linkedin and Outlook calendar reminders are fine but no emails. Even though I have set the Outlook for the message option in the FITBIT app it doesn't work.

P.s. Whats the stupid rule about not being able to write Outlook with the word email on your forum? I kept getting blocked from posting! Crazy

Hi Everyone,

I was having the same issue today when I first got my Fitbit Versa.  I could get notifications for everything except for my phone email app; texts, phone calls, and gmail emails all came through instantly.  I have a Pixel 2 XL running Android Pie.  I tried Fitbit support online, but didn't get anywhere.

After I some trial and error, I was able to adjust the settings in the phone email app on my phone to get notifications on my watch.  In the phone email app app go to Settings>Notifications>New mail sound>Behavior.  From that menu select either "Make sound" or "Make sound and pop on screen" to get your emails on the Versa.  I initially had "Show silently," and could not get my mail on my watch.  Toggling to either of those new options worked.

Because of this change your phone will now vibrate when your email comes through, and your watch will vibrate as well.  In the past, my phone only showed an email notification and did not make a sound/vibrate, so this will take some getting used to.  However, at least I know I can get my messages on my watch if I want them.

(For some reason I can't mention the name of the phone email app without getting flagged in my post - even though it is in the title of this thread - ridiculous.)

Hello,

I posted a solution to this, but when I posted I couldn't type in the name of the phone email client without getting a warning notification.  Why can't I type o u t l 0 0 k?
