Ionic not receiving notifications

my ionic does not receive notifications from any app only text & whatsap messages but will not vibrate to show they’ve arrived also I do not get notifications of calls on my ionic, this has been like this now for a few months and have emailed Fitbit to get it sorted but still nothing has happened and yes I’ve tried resetting, etc and still the issue continues! Since I had the ionic I’ve had ongoing issues with notifications and have to continually reset it to work but now this has happened!

Hi can you update me with the ‘bug’ that is causing my Fitbit not to receive notifications? It’s been going on for so long now!!

Hi Silvia, 

 

I wonder if I have the same problem. Having bought the Ionic over the weekend and tried connecting with my Google Pixel 3 (Android 9 OS) it didn't want to connect via WiFi and struggled over Bluetooth. I have troubleshooted all options through Fitbit Help including:

Restarting both my phone and the Ionic

Uninstalling the Fitbit App

Resetting the Ionic back to Factory settings

doing all of the above several times! 

 

Then tried to unpaid the Ionic via my phones Bluetooth setting and it couldn't be found. Not even showing as a previously connected device. Then checked on other phones and Ionic is not showing up on them to pair with over Bluetooth. 

 

Is this part of the bug that Fitbit are working on a solution / patch for?

Welcome to the Community @Triggz! Thanks for the details that you've mentioned and the troubleshooting that you've tried. 

 

I would like you to try this syncing procedure. Your Fitbit Ionic will connect to your phone's Bluetooth but it doesn't necessarily need to be shown on the Bluetooth devices. It will show if you're trying to use music control but your Ionic's Bluetooth should be on pairing mode. 

 

The bug that was reported previously on this post was about receiving notifications but the Ionic isn't vibrating. However, what you're experiencing is syncing issues and I'll be happy to assist you on this.

I am getting rather frustrated about my Ionic not getting notifications. Surely there must be a timeframe of when the bug will be fixed?

Yes me too it’s ridiculous that it’s taking so long! I thought we would at least be offered a New Ionic by now if they can fix this one! It’s not all ionics that have the same problem!!

I’ve tried it all! This has been going on since last year and nothings been resolved! Such bad customer service. I just keep being told it’s a bug that Fitbit are trying to fix...so when is it going to be fixed?????

I receive text messages sometimes but no vibration alert at all.  I do not receive any call notifications.  This is crazy that it’s taking so long for someone to sort out and bad customer service, I feel I’m just going round in circles and no one actually doing anything! I really wish I had an Apple Watch!
