I've reset the phone app, the watch, re-paired done everything the forums have suggested. I have a Android Samsung Note 9. Sooo frustrating as it will work initially then stop syncing. The phone calls still come through on the watch. Not FIT for purpose!!! 🤬

Didn't use my Ionic last week, turned it on this morning and discovered that I'm no longer receiving Gmail notifications. SMS works fine, not sure about phone. Naturally there was a Fitbit app update over the weekend so I'm wondering if that has anything to do with lack of Gmail notifications. seems like every time Fitbit updates firmware or the app it screws up some some function that previously worked fine.

Notifications are sent to the tracker and are not synced, per say.
Is notifications turned on, on the ionic itself?
Have you checked permissions and notification volume on the phone is not turned off? Do notifications show up on the phone while the screen is locked?

I am having the same issue. I reset the app and factory reset the watch and re-paired. I have a Pixel 3. Phone calls coming in, text message coming in, no other updates like whatsapp or news updates coming in.

Rich,
In answer to your questions:
Is notifications turned on, on the ionic itself?
Have you checked permissions and notification volume on the phone is not turned off? Do notifications show up on the phone while the screen is locked?
Yes, notifications are turned 'on' on the Ionic watch, permissions and notification volume on my Pixel 3 are turned on as well. Notifications show up on the Pixel 3 lock screen as well. I am receiving incoming phone call and SMS text messaging notifications without any trouble.
It is Gmail notifications that have stopped working out of the blue. Everything was 100% functional when I shut down my Ionic on Sunday 15 September. When I started it yesterday morning is when I noticed that Gmail notifications were not working. My Ionic Firmware version is 27.33.1.30; there was a firmware update being pushed a couple weeks back but I did not download it due to all of the recent problems Fitbit's been having with these updates (see the Charge 2 Forum). I'm using the App version 3.6.1 that I updated 19 Sept. You'll note that an app update preceded this problem. About a year ago had a similar issue when SMS text notifications died for no apparent reason. Resumed working after a few weeks an new app/firmware update (or both- can't recall).

The solution is still in your phone and settings, not the tracker.
Has Fitbit support been able to help you out?

To recap my Ionic stopped receiving Gmail notifications after the 19 Sept Fitbit App update, SMS and phone call notifications were unaffected. Fitbit support made a few simple suggestions via email that didn't work then suggested I follow the advice from the Fitbit website. I can't post the link but it's the "My Fitbit device isn't receiving notifications from my phone".
To cut to the chase the first step is to uninstall the Fitbit app on your phone and then to reinstall it. This relatively simple step worked and Gmail notifications were restored. That being said the problem was caused by something with the app update and indeed was not the Ionic device itself.

Same on my loss Ioss of notification. Yesterday I cleared all data on the app. Wiped the watch, reinstated the watch and linked backed to the phone. Works with notifications.
