£ 300.00 PLUS piece of electronic device !!!
Doesn't EVER sync, and I mean ever. No matter how many times I update, reinstall, switch off and switch on and all the other manufacturer's recommended guff, the thing just does NOT sync. On the odd occasion that it does sync, it drops the connection and aborts the sync.
Basically this tracker is useless without the mobile phone app to sync to and I've pretty much stopped using it.
Apart from the endless sync problem from new some months back, I've also experienced problems with the sleep tracker.
Bitterly regret buying this device - for £300.000 plus I could have gone on a decent holiday or covered my gym fees for 6 months and I would definitely not recommend this piece of junk !!!
Pissed OFF !!!!

Okay.... First of all, if your Ionic isn't syncing, try a factory reset. If that doesn't work, contact the support team. Second of all, You NEED the Fitbit app or Fitbit Connect to sync the Ionic. Make sure that the device supports BT 4.0 . Other than that, I can't help you much more on this matter.

The problem is we have to go through the "resolve syncing issues" every single time we want to sync. It's ridiculous.
I have a Galaxy S8 so there should be no problems syncing. I've tried rebooting the phone and watch. Support will just say to try factory resetting, try this, but I don't want to go through that every single time I want to sync.

Well, first of all I see you changed my header from "NOT Impressed" to "Ionic Not Syncing"......further misrepresentation of this product !!!!
Apart from the fact that this very expensive device does NOT do what it says on the tin, it malfunctions routinely and then when a customer posts a complaint you disguise the essence of the post by re-titling it, that in itself exposes a lack of authenticity - let me say again, I AM NOT IMPRESSED !!!!
You guys can rest assured that for the money that I have paid for this device, if this matter is not resolved to my entire satisfaction, I will be taking this matter up with the highest consumer regulatory bodies I can find - your sales and marketing programme is misrepresenting this product, it does not do what it says it supposed, it malfunctions ALL the time, is fraught with problems and as a device that's supposed to facilitate a lifestyle regime, whether that may be improved fitness or weight loss, it is utterly useless because it doesn't sync and it doesn't update!!! Everybody that I know that uses a tracker that is not a Fitbit does not have this problem, especially with syncing !!
Sort it out !!!!
NOT IMPRESSED !!!!

First of all, the software is literally 6 months old. I'd like you to compare that to Apple, who had 3 years to refine their software... Besides, Not all of the Fitbit products are perfect. So maybe 1 out of 50 might be a malfunction. Just move on with life. You can return it and order an Apple Watch if you prefer.

I'm going to have to try this. I'm discouraged because I had zero issues syncing mine until the app update. Since then I've tried everything and nothing has worked. Sometimes my sleep synces but nothing else, then floors but not steps, steps but not workouts and sometimes nothing! Confusing and frustrating.
Going to try these tips tomorrow?

My Ionic seems to sync when it wants to and other times not sync at all.
The other things that annoys me is that it needs an internet connection to sync a local device that is paired via bluetooth. Why it needs to establish an internet connection with fitbit.com to do a local sync is beyond me... very, very bad design (what happens when I go somewhere -- e.g. camping -- when there is no internet connection? or when the fitbit site is down like the other day? There is no reason why the tracker should not do the local sync during these situations; it's just bad design).

ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!?!
What an ignorant response. Someone pays over $250 for a watch we expect it work. You're a **ahem** if you think "Some don't work so move on a deal with it" is an acceptable response.

My Ionic is now syncing properly ... sharing my solution in hopes it can help others.
1. Ensure all other Fitbit devices are unpaired and removed from your phone
2. Pair Ionic to phone's Fitbit app
3. Go through entire Fitbit setup process, required Ionic to be plugged in (about 30 minutes)
4. Ionic now syncs and notifications work, both text messaging and phone calls.
Note: To test phone notification, go to "Notifications" page of Fitbit phone app then select "Send a tets call notification" from upper right menu
