Ionic not tracking activities

My original Ionic developed a crack in the sensor covering, so heartrate stopped recording consistently. I decided to buy a new one. I removed the old device from my account and setup the new one. Calibration failed continually on the new device and it was not counting steps or measuring heart rate, etc. I removed the new one, did a factory reset on both and set up the old one again. On both devices, after setup, my activity for the day (this was late evening) was shown on the devices and my dashboard. However, sometime after midnight, my dashboard no longer showed any activity for the day except for steps taken after setting the old one back up.

I've now exchanged the new device and will proceed with setup later today. Fingers crossed that this one isn't also defective and that the day's activity isn't lost again!

@sboots It's nice to see you on the Community. Thanks for the details mentioned and the troubleshooting tried.

I appreciate the details mentioned and the troubleshooting tried. I'm glad to hear that you bought a new Ionic and  set it up to your existing account. I would like you to make sure you're starting the activity using the exercise app on your watch or that you're tracking it using SmartTrack

Let me know how it goes. I'll be around if you need further assistance.

Hello, @SilviaFitbit

I exchanged the replacement defective Ionic and managed to set the new one up last night. It took quite a long time to apply the update, though. It failed multiple times over WiFi, so I finally switched to Bluetooth and that worked, albeit slowly. The new one is working fine. The original was long out of warranty -- I pre-ordered that when the Ionic was first announced for sale! It had been working great until the crack developed in the sensor covering -- battery lasted 3 or more days still with my usage pattern. I considered switching to the Versa2, but decided that sticking with the Ionic was the way to go.

Yes, I am tracking my activity as well as my sleep. I've been a Fitbit user for almost 6 years now and love the stats provided!
