Ionic resets while in elliptical exercise mode

My Ionic sometimes resets while in the elliptical mode, after approximately 2 minutes on my elliptical. It gives me the Fitbit logo screen for about a minute and then reverts to the clock face. This happened twice since I bought it in December and is annoying because I have to pause exercising to set it up again. I haven't used it in any other exercise mode yet, so I'm not sure if this only happens in the elliptical mode. I didn't see any other posts about his issue.

Mine has done that a couple of times on the elliptical. I don't set up the elliptical tracking just using the auto-track feature. Did not happen before I started using the music feature. I'm still working to try and figure out why it does that. Are you using the music feature?

No, I'm not using the music feature and I always select elliptical rather than auto-detect

I, too, am having an issue with my Ionic just "locking up".  It will not respond to a reset with the left and bottom right button.  The phone does not detect the device when it does this.  So far, it will turn back on when I plug it to the charger.  I have performed a factory reset on the device and that did not correct the issue.  It is very frustrating because if I'm in the middle of a workout, unless I stop, go to the charger and connect - I have no tracking for that time.  I'm at the 30 day return mark and I am going to return it.  I may get another because I really like the Ionic but it is very unreliable.  For the amount of money it should not have that kind of issue.  I was willing to overlook the sudden HR readings of 135 - 140 while sitting at my desk.  Not going to wait for a 3rd strike - I'm running out of time.

I encountered that problem twice this month, at first I thought it was because the Ionic failed to get the hr for more than a minute but did some tests and that didn't seem to be the cause. I'm almost sure it's also not because the hand is touching some buttons by accident (although the hands are quite bent depending how you're using the elliptical). 

All I can say is that it happened twice during the first minutes on the elliptical and never during other exercises (did some running, walking and weight lifting). I'll keep an eye on it and post here if I understand the problem better.

It is rather odd.  I can find no rhyme or reason for the shutdown/lock up.  It has even done it while I was simply cleaning house, no workout selected nor using the music feature.

Mine done this the last two days in a row on treadmill exercise while listening to music. It was doing it one to two times a week but it's starting to do it more times than not and you're right about it being annoying. Did anyone ever figure out why, of has any of the firmwares that have come out since this posts fixed anyone's issue?
