Ionic screen glitching

Ionic screen started glitching - lines over the screen messages whenever I click on to read time etc. Flickering and goes dark. Turned it on and off but made no difference. 
I have only had it for 7 months and it was a replacement for another Fitbit which got a cracked screen. Why does the hardware fail? The quality of these products has to be questionable as I know other people who have had Fitbit products which also do not last long. Very disappointing for products that are not cheap.
