Ionic screen went blank during run

I was 4 miles into a run today and my Ionic screen went blank. I knew it had a decent charge. When I got home and attached the charger it showed 42% battery.  

What gives?

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and sharing that the screen on your Fitbit Ionic went blank during run. Thank you for providing the additional details, I understand how you're feeling and I am here to help. I recommend doing the following:

1. Restart the device: How do I restart my Fitbit device?
2. Change a clock face: How do I change the clock face on my Fitbit device?

Mine does the same thing, but so far only in cold weather.  When I get back home and plug it in, the screen turns back on (the Fitbit logo appears so maybe the entire watch has somehow shut off?) and there is always plenty of battery life left (30-50% minimum).

Not a major problem, just requires some creative editing of the results, but is a bit strange...
