Ionic showing too many steps

So I got my fitbit ionic yesterday and today when I woke up it showed 70k extra steps. Without reason. Cant understand why. Tried restarting the watch but it shouldnt be so bad. I mean its a **ahem**ing $300 watch.

Any solution for this wrong steps counting  issue on the Ionic?

There is some patch to the app or something that we can do..?!

I have only 6 months with my first Fitbit watch and I'm kind of disappointed....

Please let me know what can i do to fix my watch?  Or simply let me know if i have to return the watch..?!

My fitbit ionic is counting ~500KM and still on, I might reach 1000kilimeter mark soon.

also receiving lot of new badges
