It's very frustrating that Ionic stopped tracking my running activity this morning in the middle of it and lost all the data, even after I have restarted tracking :-(. This is the second time that happened to me in 2 weeks.
How can I rely on a watch that cannot keep up with it's basic functionality?! Please help! My half marathon in is 2 weeks!

You can't rely on it. This issue has been there for I don't know how long. Just looking back at my own posts/replies they take me to the mid-2018 when I started experiencing crashes. You need to get a backup device as there is no fix to this issue ( and probably will never be ). I experienced two types of crashes:
- Exercise app suddenly goes back to the watch face ( if you're lucky you will feel short vibration on that occasion so you may be able to restart tracking but all previous data is lost ).
- Random reboots - it happened only a few times during Exercise app and somehow it results with dividing the workout ( so at least, pre-reboot stage wasn't lost ). I observe random reboots mostly during daily activities and fortunately, they are very rare during workouts. This started happening early this year.
I still experience crashes running the Exercise app ( GPS and non-GPS workouts ) but then I either log it manually or don't log at all. I don't care so much since I started using other devices which are a lot more reliable. I have a habit of tracking my activities using several recorders. My main tracking device is another watch, on the bike I use a bike computer. I also track using my mobile phone. I just like data and Ionic, in that case, isn't particularly useful ( the data is very limited for my use ). If Fitbit fails that's fine but I would not bet on it with my life 😛 So yeah, my advice is that if you're looking for something reliable look for something else. It saved me from lots of frustration ( although still, I remember money spent on Ionic 😆 ).

Which possible mode was used when tracking the run?
Was the tracking manually started or simply let the ionic decide.
With my walks and bike rides I have noticed this issue. Some have reported that gloves have turned off the tracking.

Thanks for sharing your experience. It's too bad to learn that there is no solution for such an expensive watch 😞 I will try to return it and get my money back.

I'm still not sure what the issue is @alicenaomi and the reason for three very vague answer in my last post

Yes, I was tracking manually started running, and I didn't touch the watch, I was just checking my pace every 5 min.It stopped suddenly after around 5.5K, 35 min.
