I have been a fitbit fan since the originals. But, this is ridiculous.
Two days ago, my ionic worked fine. Used it for a bike ride. It was syncing to my phone. I was getting text messages. All good.
Yesterday, I noticed it was losing time. It was off by about 10 mins. at the time, now it's grown to 35 or so. I searched the forums and saw that maybe I needed to update software and lo and behold, there was a firmware update. But I couldn't ever get it to find my ionic. So, I chatted customer support. The agent and I were able to get it to start the update, and it fixed the time, but eventually, after the agent left, said that the firmware upgrade was unsuccessful.
It's losing time again today and now, it won't sync to my phone. The agent I talked to today says.... sorry, you're going to have to buy a new one.... but we'll give you a 25% off coupon. It's 2 freaking years old. June of 2018 is when I got it. It worked FINE just TWO days ago. Prior to trying the update.
Other than switching to a Garmin which co-workers have and is more reliable, does anyone have suggestions for fixing this 2 year old, never been in water, always in a protective case, ionic so that it will sync and actually keep time like it did over the weekend?
Thanks for any tips!
Cami

If your phone is Android, go into Apps and notifications, select the Fitbit app and hit FORCE STOP. Back out and start the app again. Now resync. You may have to try and resync several (or more) times. I often have to toggle between swiping down to sync and going into the user (me) icon and hitting sync from within there. As I said, this may take several attempts to sync with your phone. You may even have to FORCE STOP the app a couple more times?
I wouldn't be in any hurry to update to the latest firmware 27.70.8.0. Read through numerous threads.
