Hi, my wife and I bought smart watches for each other last valentines day. I got the fitbit ionic and she got the Samsung gear sport. Her Samsung is doing great still but unexpectedly my fitbit no longer responds to touch. I reset it multiple times and finally did a factory reset and it is still unresponsive. I can't even get it set up now because I cannot dismiss the "tips." I was hoping for a new device, there is no reason that it should stop functioning after only a year and a half of ownership. However, today when I called in to fitbit support team, somebody who barely spoke English assured me they wouldn't do anything besides offer me a 25% discount on my next fitbit device. Why and the freaking crap would I buy another watch from fitbit? The thing is an absolute piece of crap and the fact that there are a ton of other costomers with the same problem proves that it's a defect with the design. I obviously should have gotten a Samsung like my wife, it would still be doing fine just like hers.
I'd like to give fitbit the opportunity to remedy the situation before I get in touch with Samsung and offer testimony that they have the superior product. Im sure they will like to hear a personal story on why their product is supperior.

Welcome to the Community @SunsetRunner. Thanks for the details mentioned.
It is particularly difficult when the device is no longer covered by the warranty, but even though Support is eager to help with any problem you may experience with the product, they do need to adhere to the official warranty policy, this would start counting from the original date of purchase.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding the quality of our products comments from users are always useful to continue to improving the quality of products and services.
I'll be around if you need further assistance.

I think its a complete farce that Fitbit has no answers for the hundreds of their costumers who have purchased these devices for hundreds of dollars, only to be able to use them for a short amount of time after the warranty runs out. Seems to me that they are designed to break after the warranty runs out considering that so many people are having problems.
I wont be satisfied until Fitbit sends me a refurbished device. At that point, I am more than happy to send them my old piece of junk so they can examine it for its obvious manufacturing defect. I'm concerned that future costumers will be dealt a similar hand as I have.
Until then, I will make it my personal mission to ensure that nobody I know buys a fitbit and that these products do not equip to hold up to everyday use for more than a 18 months.
Thanks for nothing Fitbit 😔
