Ionic stuck in pairing mode when connecting to Jabra Elite

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Ionic used to pair fine with my Jabra Elite Wireless headphones.  Now when I go to pair them, it finds the Jabras and sits in pairing mode with the wheel spinning.  I never get the green check mark, so they haven't paired in weeks.  I am about to cancel Pandora because it's now a waste of money.  This Ionic has been a headache since day one.  I should have returned it, but way too late now.  Lost all confidence in Fitbit and probably will never buy another one, but would like to use this one until it dies completely.  Thanks!

Hello @StephiePw welcome to the Community Forums, it's a pleasure to assist you with your Ionic device and your Jabra Elite headphones.

I'm sorry to know that you feel in such way, totally understand how frustrating this matter can be for you. If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to restart your Ionic device and take in consideration all the information that's specified on our help article: How do I connect Bluetooth audio devices to my Fitbit watch? and let me know how it goes. I'm aware that there's a process to restart the Jabra Elite headphones as well, I search this process for you but it depends on the model of your headphones. That said, please check the Jabra website to find such information and be able to restart your wireless headphones.

Please keep me posted, let me know if you have any additional questions.

Hello,  I appreciate you getting back to me.
I've tried it all.
The Jabra headphones connect to my phone just fine, so I don't think they are the problem.  The procedure that I found to "reset" the Jabras is to hold the right earphone button down for 10 seconds.  That worked a few times to get the Jabras connected to my Ionic, but that has since stopped working as well.
I have also restarted my Ionic more times than I can count.    I've restarted it by going to the settings and about to shutdown.  I have forced a shutdown.  According to my Fitbit app on my phone, there are no updates, so it claims I am good there, but the app doesn't always work either.  So who knows there.
So I've paired at least 3 different sets of headphones to my Ionic since I bought it, say, almost 3 years ago, so I am very familiar with how to pair them.  So I don't know what else to take into consideration there.  All of the headphones I try pair easily to my phone, so I think the obvious problem is the Ionic.
I am guessing you work for Fitbit.  So here are other things this watch does, if it helps.
- it shuts down randomly all the time and restarts numerous times in the day.- I have run the same route many times, but the distance is never the same- It connects to GPS, and then as you're running and look down it is searching again.  If it happens to reconnect, the distance and time is way off, so there's no point in bothering there.- It can never stay connected to your phone, so one day text messages are coming through on the watch, most days not.
If I could return this thing, I would.  I am considering bouncing it off a wall soon.
If you have any more suggestions, I would appreciate it.  It's very disappointing, though.  It was a good idea.  I am not someone who wants to lug a big phone around on a run, so music on my watch is great.  When it does work, it is great.  But the times it doesn't work well outweigh the times it has worked.
Thank you again,
Steph
