I just bought the Ionic for my swimming exercise. I am interested in 3 main items that the Ionic offers: distance log the pool, total time swim, calories burn, heart rate, . But, after 3 days of trying, i still don't see the matching in the pool.
1) Distance: i swim 2500 yards every morning.
The Ionic logged: 2464 yd, 1950 yd, 2200 yd which are not correct.
2) Total swimming time for each day in the pool is acceptable. My usual time is between 60 mins to 65 mins.
The Ionic logged: 1hr 5min, 1hr 6min, 1hr 10 min.
3) Calories burn:
The Ioni logged 483 calories, 338 calories, 371 calories. I thought it is a bit low because i expect to burn around 600 calories each session.
4) Heart rate: I can see the heart rate goes up and down during the hard sets. A good feature.
I would like to ask if anyone runs into the issue # 1 and # 3 above ? Base on my samples, the ionic is only 50% (#2 and # 4) correct in the pool.
When i switch to Exercise - Swimming, the Ionic totally can not detect the pool length in yards, and it does not know how many laps i have done.
I plan to try mySwimPro work out next week to see how it detect the laps and time.
For now, i am at the cross road of changing the device since i only use it for swimming.

Hi,
Thank you for the comments. But, i disagree with all the comments except for one.
No, i completed 100 laps during my sessions.
No, I never stopped in the middle of the pool to rest. I only stopped between sets meaning at the end of the pool.
No, I never changed stroke in midway of a length.
