Hello,
I've been having ongoing issues with syncing my ionic. It's generally hit or miss whether or not it syncs or not. It very rarely syncs on demand and get the message that 'looking for device' a lot.
I noticed that there's an update available. When I clicked to update on the app, it said it's 'connecting to Ionic' but kept trying to connect for ages.
I'm. Sure they are related. I've tried all of the solutions: Quiting the app, restarting app, restarting watch, restarting phone etc.
Help please.

I would like you to try this syncing troubleshooting and once you have it connected, please follow this procedure to update your Fitbit Ionic. If you're still having issues, could you let me know the mobile device you have?
