I've had a fitbit since 2013. I've just upgraded from my 5th Surge to the Ionic and I'm impressed with device but NOT at all happy with the syncing of it with the app. I love the challenges and often compete in various types. Can someone help me get this sorted. Otherwise I think I'll be going other to Garmin.

@marinrider, it might be out of the frying pan into the fire...! I have to say that I had a Garmin before I had a Fitbit and found syncing a complete nightmare...
As for your specific issue, depending on what device you are trying to sync with, I usually find a quick restart almost always works to get a sync going. If that doesn't work, logging out of the app and logging in again and then immediately trying to force a sync almost always works.
Frankly, there is so much info on the Ionic itself, speaking only personally, I don't worry too much if it won't aync for a day or two. As long as you are able to sync within 5-7 days yu won't lose any data.

Thanks
I removed the Ionic in a hope that reinstalling it might help. I've also moved my old Surges out of range ad my other halves new Charge 2 is also out of range I think.
However, I'm still having trouble the laptop app has found the Ionic 3 times but then said there was a problem. Now it can't seem to find it at all. Trying to set up directly via the phone app on my S7.
FYI When I set this Ionic up on Friday night it had to do a firmwear update that took about 4 hours

Well I have managed to sync it again but lets hope it remains connected now.

I have had almost every Fitbit they have made. I hate my Ionic. It never syncs. just checked now it hadn't synced in over 24 hrs. I have contacted customer service several times and it is always my fault. I never had trouble with any of my others. I would love to just throw it in the trash. I wish you better luck with yours.
