My Ionic won't connect to Xperia Z5 Compact at all. It says it finds the device, but won't connect. Previously I got it to connect, but not sync. To try getting it to sync, I tried the various tricks, including removing it from the app and reconnecting, but now it won't connect. Have tried every trick I could find.
Regretting my purchase now, and will never again buy a Fitbit if I can't find a solution for this. Had some problems with my Surge as well, so I will make it my life's mission to get as few people as possible to buy Fitbit if they don't sharpen up. Yes, I'm angry now.

I was having issues with my earlier Sony but now I have the XP (2016) and it's been upgraded to Android 8.0.0 and everything I need on my Ionic works...
I notice your phone could have Android V7, is this so... ?

I seem to have all that checked except that I have Android 7.1.1. For some reason, the latest Android isn't available yet for Xperia Z5 Compact. Maybe it's abandoned?
In any case, it shouldn't be required to have the absolute latest Android to get the frikkin watch to sync properly.
At this point I have to remove and add the watch from my app every time I want to sync. And I have trouble every time I want to update the firmware.

Gringorilla, here is the list of Fitbit Approved Devices. Your phone appears to not be on it. In fact, I couldn't find any Xperia models.

Well that's annoying. Sony Xperia is the third most sold phone brand in the world. Why exclude it?

@SunsetRunnerI always see that compatibility list as a "not tested list".. I have no issues with my Sony Xperia XP and it has worked on Android 6, 7 and now 8.. and 8 was upgraded at the same time as OS2.1 on the Ionic
I do find issues with syncing in a home environment with too many devices around and that was obvious to me the other day when my Kardia ECG device wouldn't work because it displayed a message "Too much electrical interference". See this link
I have posted elsewhere, and I have found when my Ionic struggles to sync I turn off the phone and use the Dongle in my Windows PC.. That works immediately.. Or, I reverse the process, take the Dongle out and use the phone.. Since I have used this process I haven't restarted my Ionic or removed Apps or unpaired.. My phone is switched off at night and maybe the restart in the morning is part of the secret.
I'm sure users get frustrated but I wish I could get a syncing process from Fitbit.. because most times when my Sony App is wheeling trying to sync the data is there on the PC.. It's obvious the Fitbit looks to the server first for historical data because some like me are in multi mode with their Fitbits..
I proved that again this morning. I was away from the PC and syncing via the phone..
Over the years Fitbit have always expounded interference and my home is no exception..
