My Ionic has turned itself off multiple times today and is unresponsive for a few minutes. Eventually I'm able to turn it back on but it's very frustrating as I don't know how long it turned itself off for!
This has happened in the past a few times but not like this.

Try restarting your Ionic several times. If that doesnt work try a FFactory Reset (settings app on the Ionic). Ifbthat doesnt work you will need to contact Support (link in my signature ) Let us know how you go

Same problem here. In the last 1-2 weeks I noticed that Ionic was off sometimes, I restart it and after few days I noticed the same again. For the last 2 days Ionic shuts down itself more often. I turn it on but after a few minutes shuts down again. So, it's worse.

The EXACT thing has been happening to my watch since the end of February. Today during my daily walk it quit 15 minutes into my hour walk.I didn't notice until I checked because I should have had 10 thousand steps by then. The watch was dead.....pushing buttons did nothing. I finally had to do the factory reset I was told to perform last month when it happened.
It came back up but I missed over 4900 steps!!! If it happens again, push all 3 buttons together and hold for about 20-30 seconds and it comes back to life. Too bad I didn't notice sooner, I guess I will have to check this every few minutes from now on. Oh I reported it AGAIN, and was told there is nothing wrong it is not defective. I say bull when it shuts off by itself. I am guessing they are aware some software issue and will not let the customers know about it.

Which watch face have you been using, when this happened to you?

Hello everyone! If you continue having display issues with your Fitbit Ionic devices, I'd recommend restarting the trackers by following these steps:
If the restart provided above doesn't make any change on your tracker's behavior, I'd suggest attempting a factory reset. Note that before performing a factory reset you have to unpair your Ionic. Here are the steps:
After this, keep an eye on your tracker's behavior and see what was the outcome!

I am so frustrated, and also getting the same issue. Ionic just goes black. I have tried the remedy mentioned but no response. It has done the 'black screen of death' off and on, but now it is completely unresponsive. Can I have help with a factory examination?

Hi, Just did everything you said, still same behavior. I factory reset and while trying to reconfigure it from scratch, the watch turned off. I turn it back on, and again while configuring it, shuts down and start over again with the app from my ipad.
