Hi,
My Fitbit ionic generally has a pretty decent GPS and is generally within 100 metres of the actual distance/the distance on Strava. However it seems that whenever I pause the watch (e.g. running intervals/taking a break) the difference increases dramatically and the pace change greatly too. For example, the other day I ran a 10.12k at about 6 minute pace and paused the watch a few times to take a break. However Strava then said the distance was 9.6k and gave a pace of 6:20! This issue doesn’t occur for me when I don’t pause, however it is an issue as I do a fair amount of shorter intervals. Any ideas?

I have found that the third party tracking apps seem to vary sometimes fairly extremely with the data that my Iconic. I had one that was for Charity miles, it would double and sometimes triple my milage as compared to my tracker. So I have learned to take each with a grain of salt as all of their measuring metrics seem to be slightly different. I walk mostly the same routes when I am recording exercises, so I have a fairly good idea of what the mileage should be and my Iconic usually tends to be the closest to that.
