Hi, I switched to a Huawei P30 pro and since then, I cannot get notifications to my Ionic. I tried removing my IOnic from my account and re-add it without any success. I also noticed that I cannot set up a wifi network too. So, it tells me that there's communication issues between the Ionic and Huawei P30 Pro.
My previous phone - Huawei P20 Pro - worked flawlessly with my Ionic.
Is there anything that can be done to fix these communication issues between my P30 pro and my Ionic?

Welcome back @ccote it's nice to see you participating in our Community! Let me help you out with your Ionic concerns.
Let me share with you that the Huawei P30 Pro is not a supported mobile device at this moment, reason why you may experience the situation with your notifications and the Wifi network. Our team routinely test new devices to ensure full compatibility with our products and services, and are constantly working to confirm compatibility with new phone models such as yours so if you don't see your device on the list please check back soon.
Even though your mobile device is not compatible at this moment, I'll recommend you to check My Fitbit device isn't receiving notifications from my phone. for the notifications concern, this information might help you but your Ionic will have miscommunication with the mobile device.
I'll be around if you need anything else! Keep me posted. 🤓

Hi Ccote,
I literally just got the P30 Pro today and my fitbit ionic didn't work at first but once I set the premissions for the Ionic on the phone it worked. It is even allowing me to reply through the watch (which I couldnt do with my Iphone!!). Hope this helps.

can I ask how you done this please

Unfortunately Huawei P30 as much as other Chinese phones have a very aggressive battery optimization policy. In other words it will prioritize the battery life before anything else and will kill any background applications. I had a Xiaomi phone that wouldn't give me whatsapp or email notifications.
It is nice to have a full day or more battery but not getting notifications is kinda bad.
So for once it is not the Fitbit app but rather the phone. Did a quick Google search and the first hit was this https://www.androidbeat.com/2019/04/huawei-p30-pro-fix-push-notifications-apps/
I did a similar thing to fix mine but it is not bullet proof. It does work better but it may skip few notifications here and there,
Good luck!

Hi Darylann11,
It is very simple, go to settings, then battery. In the battery settings go to 'app launch'. Then set fitbit to 'manage manually'. My ionic has worked almost perfect for me since I did this. I have had to reconnect the phone twice since this, and that was simply restarting Bluetooth then reconnect on the fitbit app. I had an iPhone previously and I couldn't reply to messages, and now I can. Hope thus helps!

Hey Mark hower things, am I love to get the P30 like now tho, but I heard loads of issues between the phone and Fitbit, just wondering as you say almost perfectly am what issues do you have with it and reconnect is that mean the two items disconnect from each other. !? I have the samsun j4 plus and work perfectly that's why I need to know before I make the move, please and thank you. !?

Anyone any further with this? My versa syncs just fine with my P30 but alas, not a single notification. I've tried every "fix" going but nothing! 🤦

It's a pleasure to continue providing assistance, sorry for the delay in responding your post @Sparkles872.
As it turns out, the Huawei P30 Pro is still not included in our list of compatible devices. That said, my best advise will be to take into consideration the details that were shared on my previous post, try the troubleshooting steps that were specified there and let me know how it goes. If you continue experiencing difficulties, please try with a compatible device instead.
I'll be around if you need anything else.
