Ionic won't let me record exercise

This morning I encountered a new issue with my ionic. The exercise app won't launch at all. Hitting the upper right button or swiping right and tapping the app icon simply returns me to the clock screen. This was working fine yesterday. I've tried restarting the ionic, but still can't get the exercise app to launch. Has anyone else encountered this issue? What were you able to do to fix it?

Have you removed the exercise app, if possible, then re-added?

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately the Exercise app isn't one that can be uninstalled from the Ionic.

Then try setting up the the ionic again.

Hi I' ve got the same problem.  Have you managed to resolve it?

@Essgee  since we are not sure what the problem or it's symptoms are, may I ask which of the possible ways you use to record your unknown type of exercise?

It would not let me record any activity at all, just kept flashing green and then back to the exercise icon.  I eventually did a factory reset and fingers crossed it now seems to be working.
