Ionic won't sync and missing the Settings app

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Ionic no longer syncs and has the wrong time. The Settings app is also missing. After trying a hard reset and deleting the Fitbit app/cache from the paired android phone, I tried the following factory reset process:

  1. On the device, hold all three buttons for about 10 to 12 seconds.
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears, quickly release the bottom right button, continuing to hold down the left and top right buttons (releasing the bottom right button as soon as the logo disappears is time sensitive).
  3. When the device vibrates, release all buttons.

However, after step 3, it's just in the normal boot up state. It seems like it's just rebooting rather than factory resetting. Any help?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @pan_pan.

Thanks for the details shared in your post and for already trying to solve the issue. I recommend trying the following:

  1. Restart the device: How do I restart my Fitbit device?
  2. Restart your phone and open the Fitbit app.
  3. Tap the Today tab, and tap your profile picture.
  4. Tap Set Up a Device. Choose your device and follow the on-screen instructions to continue.

If you experience any difficulties with pairing your watch, please follow the troubleshooting instructions at Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?

Let me know how it goes.

I have already tried all those things:

  1. I've restarted the Ionic
  2. I've restarted my phone
  3. I've tried to Set Up my Device though the app

Your second link just takes me to a page that instructs me to restart the app

After looking at the list of recent issues it appears that many Ionic users are having the same problem. My device stopped syncing and the time fell off at a rate of about 5 minutes per hour. I have followed all of the instructions through the app to reconnect the app to the watch but it didn't work. I noticed one suggestion for a problem that appeared similar to my issue. There may be a glitch that is causing Wi-Fi connected to the phone to interfere with the Bluetooth connection between the phone and watch. I turned off my phone's Wi-Fi and the app paired and synced with the watch right away. It may be worth trying turning off the Wi-Fi connection to your phone to see if that solves the problem. There certainly appears to be a bigger issue with the latest firmware update though that needs to be fixed if it's causing problems for so many of us.
