Ionic won't turn on

I would be curious to know how many have experienced problems/death of their ionic since the last update. Mine was working fine until then. There were intermittent problems and now death. I have only had it for about 16 months.  (Nearly $300 down the drain, apparently...) Fortunately, my old Charge 2 still works. But once that dies, I certainly wouldn’t put another penny into a Fitbit. Perhaps the company owes us all something?

After updating several weeks ago it began showing same notification (calendar) over and over but not constant. This would happen even when not near my iPad. Also began having intermittent syncing issues. Cleared all notifications. Now it is constantly flipping between the clock face and the notification screen which tells me “Nothing new here”. I’ve restarted it with no luck. Tried shutting down but it won’t stay in “settings” long enough to get there. It has been recording my steps and swim this morning. It is only a bit more than a year old. Any ideas because I’m definitely not happy.

Hi @Roundylb, welcome to the Community Forums!

Thanks for your post and for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. If your Fitbit Ionic is no longer turning on, can you please let me know if the heart rate sensors are flashing or is your device completely unresponsive? If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to check our help article: Why isn't my battery charging on my Fitbit device? and let me know how it goes. Such article includes a restart process which can be really helpful for this situation

Looking forward to your reply.

Thank you for replying.
Ever since the latest update there have been issues. First it refused to sync with my iPad (which is what I usually use). I made sure the bluetooths were on, and turned off the one on my phone which sometimes interferes. It took a “restart” of the ionic to get it to start syncing again. The notification screen would intermittently pop up with notifications that had already been cleared. Then on Friday it constantly switched between the clock screen and the notification screen. (The vibrations were driving me nuts.) Tried a “restart”-no luck. Could not do a “reset” because it wouldn’t stay on one screen long enough. Finally, the battery ran out.
Next day I tried recharging but no luck there. (It is not always easy to get the cable to sit just right to charge anyway.) Read a Post in the Forum that suggested using a computer USB port. Tried this and the Ionic charged. (This makes no sense to me. The wall charger had always worked just fine when the cable was fiddled with.)
So today it is working well!!? It seemed fine during my swim this morning. (I always dry it off afterward.) I guess I now just wait and see whether or not it will flip out again.
