Ionic workout app will not open

I have had an issue for a month now where my app on my Ionic for exercise will not open. I believe this started when I was given a firmware update  notice. I could never get the firmware update to be downloaded, even leaving it overnight with phone and Ionic plugged in to sync with each other. I have logged out of Fitbit, uninstalled the app on my Samsung Galaxy 7, reinstalled the app and logged back in. I have also shut down the Ionic and restarted it. Nothing seems to work. Every time I open the exercise app it refuses to open? Any ideas for a fix?

It's pretty weird that the exercise app can't be opened. I've shared your post with our Support team, they will continue assisting you.

Thanks Silvia. It is the only app that will not work. Unfortunately it is the app I use the most. I really miss the swimming workout. It is always spot on with my handheld lap counter I use.

Welcome to the Community @Terrie2109. I would like you to restart your Ionic and then try to use the exercise app once again.

Hi Sylvia thanks for your reply. Restarted my ionic pressed exercise. The
app goes into the centre of the screen then goes back to menu. Doesn't open.

Hi Silvia thanks for your reply. Restarted ionic. Pressed exercise app from the menu, it goes into the middle of the screen (not opened just the icon of the man) then reverts back to the menu. Didn't open

I was able to get the Ionic working but did have to perform a factory reset on it along with unpairing it from my Fitbit App. I had to reinstall all my apps on the Ionic. I suggest that anyone that has to reset as I did to makee sure they have a fast speed with good connection wireless system.

Hi I uninstalled my fitbit app on my phone, then reinstalled it. Also I
deleted my ionic from the phone app then factory reset my ionic and started
again from scratch. Once I signed in to the app I hadn't lost my data and
it worked. Hope it works for you

Hi go to the settings app on your fitbit ionic, scroll down to 'about' then
scroll down to 'factory reset'

@bill01 Welcome to the Community. Sorry for the delayed reply. 

If you perform a factory reset, all the information and settings on your Ionic will be deleted. Instead if you try a restart, it won't delete anything on your watch.
