Is GPS really working on my watch?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I manually start a run or walk using the watch, wait for GPS to connect, it says "connected". Once done with walk or run, I look into the exercise history log and no GPS details are there not even the mapped route. Just normal info as if the GPS was never turned on. I have played around with the setting on my i phone 7....still nothing. I can use the fitbit app on the phone to track the exercise and it shows GPS info perfectly....but I shouldn't have to use the phone when Ionic has GPS built in. Not sure if it's really connected using the watch, how can you tell? could it be hardware or software issue? And why doesn't GPS details show up in the fitbit log app?   Anybody have any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this?   Thanks!

@Raygold I hope you're doing well! Are you still experiencing this? When you are running, after GPS showed "connected", have you seen your watch's display to verify that GPS is still connected?

There are some factors that can cause the GPS to loose connection on your watch. For example, if you are running on an area with a lot of trees or buildings, cloudy weather, or if you are running on an underground passage. Check this article for more details regarding that.

Also, when you sync after you are done with the activity, does that activity shows under your exercises list?

Keep me posted!  Smiley Happy
