Is it possible to downgrade?

With the Charge 3 having just been announced I was wondering if it would be possible for me to trade in my Ionic for a Charge 3 once it’s released. I am currently on the third Ionic as my previous two devices were defective. The current one I’m using is not much better. The heart rate monitor drops in and out during exercise and the watch itself freezes at random times for no reason. Considering the Ionic is supposed to be Fitbit’s marquee device I’m really disappointed with its performance.

I found the Charge 2 to be a near perfect fitness tracker. My only issue with it was it couldn’t track swimming. Since the Charge 3 will be water resistant I’m pretty set on getting a Charge 3 and getting rid of much Ionic because this isn’t the third faulty Ionic I’ve had.

Please note I purchased my Ionic at Best Buy along with the extended warranty. Has anybody else been able to exchange their device for a cheaper one? I’m really unhappy with the Ionic.
