Hello,

Is it possible to upload a GPX file or download a route with the Ionic?

I have the FitBit One (the most simple there is) and beside I've the TomTom Spark.

The Spark makes it possible to upload GPX file or to download a route as a GPX so I can share this with others or I can choice to race against myself using a previous run.

This option is important to me.

Can anyone tell me more about this?

It is possible to export your GPS data but not directly from the Ionic. Also, you wont be able to upload tracks to your Ionic to follow. However, the Ionic will, I believe, have Strava integration from the outset, which will be good.

Exporting GPS data

If you have GPS data you can export it to a TCX file, then upload that file to several applications including RunKeeper, MapMyFitness, Endomondo, Strava, and Google Earth.

To export GPS data:
  1. Log into your Fitbit dashboard and click Log > Activities, or go directly to https://www.fitbit.com/activities (you may need to log in).
  2. In your Activity History, find the activity with GPS data that you want to export and click the View Details button. The detail page for your activity appears.
  3. Click the three dots in the upper right corner and choose Export as TCX file.

You can find the file in your Downloads folder.

Hello everybody, thanks for visiting the Fitbit Community.

@awilkie I'm sorry to hear that your GPS data doesn't show on the TCX file. In order to investigate this situation, please be so kind to provide an image of what is shown on your exported file.

I'll be waiting for your response.

@awilkie Thanks for the response.

That information is usually shown when no GPS was recorded. I would recommend making sure that you are recording your activities using GPS by following these instructions.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks. So I will need to start the Exercise Bike app on my Ionic before I set off on my next motorcycle trip to ensure my fitbit logs the GPS co-ordinates - https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1935#settings
