every time I try and update my fit bit,it tells me the site is down try later!

A warm welcome to the Community @medixx! It's pretty weird that you're receiving this message everytime you're trying to update your Ionic.
I would like you to make sure that you have the latest version of your Fitbit app and you're running the latest OS on your phone. Does this happen as well when you're syncing?
You can try logging out of your app and force quitting it. After this, try to sync your Ionic once again.
