I was dissapointed when I noticed that lap average pace isn't avaible. For many other sport watches it's basic metrics and is one of the most important metrics for me when running. Actually I need only lap average pace, distance and hr. By the way, like many others, my ionic shows also too high hr at the beginning of my run. After first 5-10 minutes it's ok.
I hope future updates will fix these.

@SunsetRunner, are you saying that the Average Pace does not display on the Ionic screen, or that it is not available at all? It is displayed on both the Fitbit.com dashboard and the app after the exercise is synced to the app.

On the Ionic screen during excercise. I know that lap/cue data is readable later, but lap/cue average pace should be on the Ionic. There's only average pace which means whole exercise and current pace, which is unusable.

If i understand your issue correct, you can set the ionic to alert you to lap / cue times during exercise.
Go to Run settings
Set 'Show Cues' to automatically
Set your parameters on the 'Automatic Cue Settings' eg. alert every mile
You should now get alerts during exercise displaying your time for each lap.
Please note though that I have been having issues with this feature. I have another conversation ongoing on this very subject. It is called 'inaccurate automatic run cues!'

Yes, i know automatic cue settings and I'm using it, but point is that there's no current cue average pace available. It calculates your estimated time for that lap. It's not even in cue alert after each lap. This has been normal metrics for years at least in Garmin and Polar I used earlier. Look at this: https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2011/03/art-of-pacing-with-garmin.html
Method #2 is what I mean. Ionic has methods #1 and #3.

Okay, understood. I agree that would be a great feature!

Qwerty, I finally figured out a work-around to this. Run settings -> Customize Stats -> Set Bottom Stat to "Lap Time." Now if you set your Automatic Cue distance to 1mi, then right after each mile cue, it will tell you your split time for the previous mile on the bottom. Not sure why it doesn't work if you set the Middle Stat to Lap Time (which is what I was trying to do)... but I think if I understand the issue you are having, this should solve it.

Qwery, I got on the community page to find the very answer to the issue you presented. I run marathons and want technology to give me my average pace as opposed to me
doing math during a long run. That’s how I know if I need to make up time. Knowing my split pace isn’t as beneficial as my average pace per mile.

I agree, the average lap pace should be basic functionality for a running watch. My Garmin which is 5 years old has that functionality but the Ionic doesn’t. I don’t want to see mij actual current pace but the average pace of my current lap (or better current mile / km), that helps me to keep a steady pace during the run.
I hope Fitbit will add this soon, it is not that difficult, juist a little math.

Nope, the pace (average) is de average pace of the total run. I am looking for the average pace of the current mile / km.
