Is there a way to lock the screen during exercise using the fitbit ionic. During my kickboxing class with my gloves on the button keeps getting hit which pauses or turns off my workout. This is the reason I did not buy the surge or the blaze. I use a lot of products from garmin and polar and they all have screen locking options. Let me know. If not I'm going to have to return mine.
sincerely,
Dale

I wear full size bloxing gloves so that won't work. I test fitness watches for a hobby. the apple watch has a lock screen. the new garmin vivoactive 3 has a lockscreen and so does the new suunto Spartan trainer all for the same price as a fitbit ionic plus they have the ability to pair with external heart rate sensors cadence senors and bike sensors. I love the fitbit app but need a simple solution to this issue. since I primarly do kickboxing and martial arts and since they are a dedicated workout in the fitbit app I figured they could provide an easy means to lock the screen. for now I'm not using my ionic for those activities and I'm using my garmin.

This is the same issue that still exists on the Blaze. Fitbit won’t fix it. I gave up when they release the Ionic and got the Garmin vivoactive 3.

Switch to other wrist. The button that pauses it will be the other side up this way and less likely to be hit

That solution doesn't work, screen can still be activated if you are wearing a coat and it gets damp (like when running or hiking in the NW). The double tap feature will wake the screen and the next tap my pause/start/stop....depending on the screen location that detects it.
There isn't a reason in the world why Fitbit couldn't fix this by implementing a screen lock with a long press on the left hand button. That button doesn't do anything....but I did figure out a great solution. The Garmin VA3 is great. Fitbit is for people who want to count steps, if that is all you care about then enjoy!

If you place a thin wristband over the Blaze or Iconic before you put on boxing gloves your workout will not be interrupted. This hasn't failed me yet.

Definitely need this feature! A wristband occasionally works for me, but all too often the buttons still get depressed and the workout paused.
