Lost steps and workout

I use 3 different fitbit devices depending on what I'm doing and which one has charge, etc. [Ionic, charge HR, and flex].

I can usually sync with no problems, and the steps from each will appear. Tonight, I switched from my ionic to flex, and got my 10k steps buzzing early in the night, but when i came home at the end of the night and tried to sync again, it showed only 9900 steps. Ie, i lost 4k steps and my early morning workout just completely fell off off my ionic.

I have no idea why it would do this, but it has happened enough times that I'm ready to toss all 3 into a fire and go to a competitor.

I synced all 3 devices again, restarted the app, restarted my phone, and nothing.

@MonicaM79 I hope you're doing well! Thanks for reporting this situation regarding multiple Fitbit devices on your account and steps being lost.

Did you synced your Ionic before switching to Flex? When syncing a Fitbit device it is very important that the other Fitbit devices are at least 10 feet away from your mobile device or syncing platform. That way you will ensure you are syncing the right device.

There was probably an overlapping of data, which sometimes happens when you are using more than once Fitbit device on your account.

If  you forget to take one off before putting on another, Fitbit reconcile the overlapping data to present the most accurate information possible on your dashboard. For example, a GPS device will be chosen by your dashboard when calculating total distance since GPS provides a more accurate distance measurement than step counting alone.

The more overlapping data that exists on your account, the more likely it is that your dashboard's accuracy will suffer. This is why it is very important to sync each device before switching to the other. Check this helpful article for more details on this.

Keep me posted! Smiley Happy
