Low hanging fruit - tremor detector

It would seem to me it would not be difficult to write software that would allow for the detection/monitoring of tremor.  I have Parkinson's Disease and have recently developed tremors.  I wear on Ionic and love it!  I use it track my activity and provide baseline data to my doctors.  It would seem to me that the trackers already have the ability to detect tremor, it just needs to be organized and made available.  I strongly feel there is a market for this and neurologists could include the tracker as necessary equipment for their patient.

Of the three things you might pick up with a fitbit,

  • dyskinesia, (twitches, jerks, twisting or writhing)
  • bradykinesia (slowness) and
  • tremor

Tremor is probably the easiest to detect. Convert the accelerometer time series to frequency and filter for 3 to 9 Hz . Persuade a developer to write the code (they hang out places like https://community.fitbit.com/t5/SDK-Development/bd-p/sdk ) something may turn up on this thread https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/Parkinson-s-Package/idi-p/4861410
