Music Controls not working after update

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi all,

Ever since the update an hour or so ago, the only way I can get my FB Ionic to control music is with the 'Restore Music Controls' left on 'Pair'. If I change that, the watch says "No phone connected." I'm really not happy with leaving the watch in pair mode, open to anyone who has the app, just for a workaround!

Any help would be appriciated.

Hi Bob,

I assume you are connecting to an Android phone, as I haven't seen anyone with this issue running an iPhone.

Anyway here is a work around,  to get music controls working (for a while, mine will stay connected for a max of 2 days and then I need to pair it again).

  1. First up change the long press left button to anything but music control.
  2. Then goto your phone Bluetooth detail settings and unpair your Ionic classic
  3. Goto your Ionic Bluetooth settings and change it to pair
  4. Pair your Ionic classic to your phone, when it pairs the settings should switch from pair to on.
  5. This will stay on and connected as long as nothing interrupts the connection.
  6. Mine stays connected for a max of 2 days and then I have to repeat this process

Note you can change the long press option back to music control and it will work but you will need to change it back next time you need to pair it again.

This is a bug in the new firmware which fitbit need to address.

Hope that helps you.

Greg

Edit: turning the phone Bluetooth off and on again and rebooting the ionic may also be required from time to time.
