Hi everyone,

I am new to the community and to Fitbit devices as well, so please, bear with me.

I just got myself an Ionic for Christmas and after setting it up, I wanted to transfer music to it.

First off, it seems you can only transfer music through a computer, is that right?

Assuming the above, my laptop does not seem to have built-in bluetooth but that seems to be an absolute requirement for transferring music, is this correct too?

Finally, the main question: how do I transfer music to the Ionic? Do I need to get myself a dongle? Will this work with ionic?

Thanks to anybody who could help out.

Cheers

Welcome to fitbit!

Yes, you do need a computer to transfer music. It's not something I have used but I think the music transfer takes place over wifi rather than bluetooth. However, if there isn't a bluetooth connection too then I can see problems. There is a guide to transferring music here: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2251/

If your laptop doesn't have bluetooth then you will need to get a fitbit dongle (a generic one won't work). If you are running Windows 10 then you can use the fitbit app but for earlier versions you'll need to download the fitbit connect software from www.fitbit.com/setup
