My Fitbit Ionic won’t charge

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Yesterday my Ionic was fine. Then the battery dived to 7%. Then 0%. On charging it goes up to 7% but never above ! I’ve tried reset, update etc etc but it’s catch 22 because none of it will work because the battery is too low

Any suggestions ?

If not where can I take my Fitbit to repair in Thailand

Thanks

I Had the same problem, with all the sweat and dust in the area were we've been, If you use a eraser from a pencil, which finally worked for me. I rubbed the eraser on the contacts of your watch and blow off the debris. you should have contact with your charging cable. let me know if this worked for you.

Hey there @HomeJames, it's nice to see you here! Thanks for troubleshooting this inconvenience, nice way to go!

I totally agree with the steps that my friend @Doclori is sharing with you. Woman Wink

Have you tried charging it at least 1 hour? Even if you don't get anything on the screen I'd recommend charging your tracker at least 1 hour to see if the battery icon comes up after that period of time.

If after the 1-2 hours you don't get anything on the display, check if the contacts on your tracker or charging cable are not dirty. Dust and debris can accumulate over time and prevent a charge. Try cleaning them by following these instructions.

How do you charge your buddy? Have you checked if by any chance the USB port or outlet is faulty? If you haven't done so, try a different port. A UL-certified wall charger will also work. Don't use a USB hub.

If so, plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or a UL-certified USB wall charger.

Hold the other end of the charging cable near the port on the back of the watch until attaches magnetically.

I'd also try restarting your Ionic once more by following these steps

Give this a shot and let me know the outcome!

Thanks - I have tried everything you and Doclori suggest and still doesn’t charge
I’ve reset it, cleaned it etc etc
Nothing works
The charging indicator on the battery shows it charging but it never goes above 7 %
Even after all night
Charged on 4 different outlets and computer and 2 different cables that I have checked on another Ionic
Now says needs to be setup after reset but can’t set up WiFi or do via blue tooth as not enough battery

Where can I take it to in Thailand to get it looked at
It’s only 7 months old

Thanks

I've got the same problem. The Ionic was down at 27%, connected the charging cable and the screen shows the charging animation as it usually does, came back a couple of hours later and it was still at 27%. Now it's dropped to 0% even though it looks like it's charging. I've tried everything, checking the cables, cleaning the contacts, different USB outputs. Even made a factory reset. Nothing makes a difference. Don't know if this has anything to do with me updating the firmware the last time I charged it. The app tells me there is another firmware update waiting but there is no way to update since the battery is too low. Guess I have to bring it back to where I bought it this January? It sucks since I know it will take a long time to get it repaired or replaced. 😞

Seems like a lot of people have been having a similar problem - why doesn’t someone from Fitbit step up and admit it’s a fault and get it sorted out
