Ionic counts steps while on desk

My Ionic is counting steps continuously - even if it sits on my desk. Does not matter if it is charging or not. No fan or vibration present. The Ionic counts about 160.000 steps / day this way. I have tried several restarts and factory reset. Firmware was up to date when this suddenly started a few days ago. The Ionic is also regularly restarting itself. Any help appreciated, Dadi

Set my Ionic to charge last night and this morning it has 952 steps.....how did this happen and how do I reset it?
