After swimming yesterday my Ionic is non responsive and dead. I looked up the issue and found similar ones in the forum I tried all that was advised by Fitbit rep in those posts and nothing worked. I have swimmed in the past and this was never an issue. After all, I did opted for Ionic due to the fact that I could swim with it.. I pucrhcased my Ioinc on March 25, 2019 and sure hopped it would last longer than this.

Probably water got into it. My seals are breaking down. Fitbit removed the 'can swim' from the boxes after people reporting the same issue a few weeks after the product was released.
My ionic (never swam with this one) is 2yrs and the seals are breaking down. You can also see light bleeding in. This issue is common across all their products since day one. It's the cost of using consumer and not enthusiast products. I only use Garmin when swimming.

Thank you for your comment. When I made my decision to purchase this product, what really swayed me to do so was the fact that they advertised that you can swim with it. I purchased it on March 25th last year, registered it, downloaded the app and created a Fitbit account. I can see from your comment that they removed the tag from the box claiming you can swim with it, but I have not once received anything from Fitbit to advise me that my product is in danger of severe damage if I use it while swimming. Here we are hardly 18 months into my owning this Ionic and now it is dead because I used it for what it was advertised to do at the time I purchased it. To me this is highly unethical way of conduct. Shame on Fitbit. I would really like to hear what an official Fitbit representative would have to say. As far as I am concerned, I will never again purchase anything from this company.

Update- so I ended up calling the support to discuss my issue and this is the summary: Fitbit knew there is a deisgn flaw and Ionics are not swim worthy as they have clearly remove that claim from the boxes. However, they did nothing to warn the current owners to stop using their Ionics while swiming. Since I purchased mine on March 25, 2019, they are telling me I am out of warranty and all that they will do is offer me 25% discount to purhcase a new one. Thank you but no thank you. This crap, alongside with countless wristbands replaced on my wifes ALTA HR I am done throwing my money away on this junk. For all others with Ionics out there - don't let it get wet or you will be out of luck. If anyone is considering buying there are better products out there.

Did you receive a solution to your problem. I can't read the replies. Mine too has died. Not from swimming but because I didn't charge it in time and it went dead. Now it won't turn on. I've tried to charge it all night.
