My experience with Ionic

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Ionic gave out yesterday. The screen is dark and when resetting, you can see a small light on right side. Still syncs to app, but no screen.

I have called Fitbit about doing something all I have been offered is a 35% discount towards some older watches. Not even the ionic. Really disappointed in this as I was saving up towards the sense.

What else is the competition offering these days? Been an avid fitbit since the beginning. I think Amazon is releasing a tracker soon as well

How are you enjoying the Garmin? I received the same response from Fitbit and after years of unreliable devices seemingly ready to become defective too shortly after end of warranty I'm ready to try another brand as well.

I've been handed the same response.

I purchased ionic less than 2 mths ago (from retail store) had I known it was being discontinued, I would not have purchased it,. Being my 1st smart watch, i was trying to figure out why I couldn't get things set up working. NEVER being able to have it working I turned to forums. I read hundreds. Finally finding it wasn't something I was doing wrong, it was the ionic not syncing. After calling retail store to be told it's more than 30days old, no refund. So, I contact fitbit. Have them tell me it's DEFECTIVE. I can return it and have a REFURBISHED replacement, IF there are even any to be found because they don't make ionic anymore, I was told. Or I can take the offer of 50% off OLDER devices only. (Versa, versa2, Charge 3,4 or Inspire, HR) I paid more for the Ionic then the other divorce!! does this even make sense?

After repeated email from fitbit sending the same message, I decided to call. After 45 mins on phone being told the same thing, I ask to speak with a higher up. Again, with no luck I'm told a supervisor will email me as no one is available at that time.

The response email is once again the very same message because I didn't purchase directly from Fitbit I'm not able to have a refund. My offer is a referbished replacement or 50% off older devices.

This is the worst customer service I've ever encountered (and I work in retail).

Fitbit, you've made my experience with your company a living hell.

Fitbit customer service sucks! They will
Only offer a 35% discount on older modes. Ionic is no longer being made so can’t even get the same watch. The 35% isn’t available on the Versa 3, which is the only other watch that meet my needs as a triathlete, because it’s new!! They just lost me as a customer! And as a personal trainer I won’t be recommending Fitbit products to my clients anymore!

I just don't get the support. If it broke during a run/swim etc I probably would of ordered a new fitbit since tech fails I understand that.

However it's the upgrade that broke it. No doubting or denying it.

Same here, totally unhappy with Fitbits response when it's the upgrade that has broken our ionics. I didn't think I would ever move having recommended them to my family n friends. But they have just lost me as a customer...

I'm somewhat in the same situation. Ionic is not more there, dans discount is only on Versa 2 ... which don't have GPS nor FitBit Pay I guess...

And it seems that pay a premium price for the Ionic wasn't the good idea has it seem there's a lot of these that are dying... 😕

Yes, I went a different route altogether, the Samsung Galaxy Active 2.
I am still learning the smart watch, but so far it has been able to meet my needs and more.
It’s comparable to the Apple Watch and the Garmin Venu. I ended up buying the Active 2 because it was a smaller round face than the Garmin and therefore fit my wrist much more comfortably.
I hope this is helpful.

My wife have test a Huawei Band 3 and have now a Galaxy Active 2 too. 😉

(and have also tested some old Misfit device...)

But I'm not convinced with the battery lifetime of Samsung devices so...
