Hi. I’ve a New Ionic that won’t install and update using and iPhones 6s. It keeps saying I need to update it but it fails every time. This is over blue tooth and wireless. Very frustrating as it’s brand new and 5 hours later I’m seriously thinking of returning it as not for purpose. Anyone had this issue and also know to resolve it. without the update I don’t seem to be able to proceed. Cheers

Just finished talking with Fitbit and the problem is on their end and they are working on fixing it. Love my Fitbit hope it's up working soon.

I'm having the same issue, i bought mine yesterday and have spent hours and hours restarting, reinstalling, turning things on and off and even tried on my laptop. On the fitbit website ive just noticed that they said they're aware of firmware issues on all devices and are working to resolve it, so i'm assuming this is why nothing is working. Hopefully it is resolved soon! Good luck (and if you figure it out, please let me know too!)

yeah im having this problem too, Ive unpaired, rest, turned on and off, change battery settings, re installed the app and nothing works

EDIT: The banner that was up saying it was on Fitbits side of things causing the issue has been removed and I can happily say the download began immediately...Cant get back the wasted time and frustration, BUT...The problem has been resolved on their part and for that I am thankful.

I have spent hours today trying to get this thing to put the os firmware on it.
Fought with it till frustration and went right back to BestBuy and hesitantly did a straight replacement (I was hesitant cause I am no expert but also far from a novice with tech like this) with the next one giving the exact same result.
Did every cookie cutter reply that is almost insulting on the forums when completely obvious solutions (to some) are being given over and over like a broken recording.
Then went down to work to eliminate it being some weird connection issue with my home network...nope...same thing.
On the drive home I am thinking "It has to be on their end, I have covered all the bases and then some".
I get a bit crazy with tech issues and it became a personal challenge for me to figure it out so seeing the banner saying they are having issues saved me another 5-6-7-8 hours of plugging away...
At least I can stop driving myself crazy now and Ill wait for an update to the issue....I was giving it till after work next day before going back to Best Buy for a refund and I wouldnt in anyway at that point accept a replacement but only a full refund.
Now though, if an update isn't through by the same time next day I will for sure still return it for a refund.
While Im sure many have had great things with their Ionic and no issues, I have been around the block long enough to know if issues are happening from the very start, save myself the headache and move on. (Ask my EX HAHA!)
Im hoping not to cause the watch itself is nifty looking and the actual app is fantastic...The tech side though...not so much.

I’ve had the same problem.
my ionic died yesterday so went a bought a new one (didn’t realise everyone else has had problems until now)
Cant update the New Ionic, tried Bluetooth and WiFi using phone and laptop and nothing works.

Seems like they have fixed whatever issue it was. I was ready for sending it all back to Amazon this morning. Hopefully this is a one off as for me tech should work. A brand new device that I couldn't use for a day is totally unacceptable fitbit. Tried fitbit support last night and not a single response. I do hope I've not made a mistake by purchasing Fitbit. I'm now concerned they can brick a device as simple as what they have done yesterday. My other half was cursing on the time I wasted last night and she was hell bent on just sending it all back. She says she won't touch Fitbit now as she was thinking of getting one. A customer lost Fitbit.

it died after the update did download today, Customer service very helpful and are sending a replacement, but have to say am a bit worried the same thing will happen again
