Yeah I've done factory resets, literally everything I was supposed to do, they even sent me a new one ( probably refurbished) and same issue. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app, forgot it on my phone, everything. I finally gave up though because I can't afford to pay for another one. I'm stuck with this one. My blaze was even better then this one unfortunately

Thanks for trying, the only answer I got was to do a factory reset which I don’t at the start of the troubles, I guess when this ionic goes wrong I’ll have to go over to the dark side of Garmin ? Which friends have and have no trouble with.

Got my ionic as a gift for xmas and it counted floors correctly (average 9 floors a day) up until yesterday then it said I did 52 floors (no way!) and nothing since then. Bad enough it is bulky, uncomfortable and UK uses don't get all the functions, but come on guys don't have them break down within a month. I already have two Charge 2s sat in a drawer doing nothing.

They will contact you and tell you to do a factory reset, it didn’t work for me so don’t hold your breath, I get around 70% of my floors counted, it’s a shame really as a big brand you put your trust in them to deliver a good product especially at £200. Good luck

I’m having the same issue and I’ve tried all the troubleshooting advice but nothing works.
How do I get this fixed? Thanks

I’m afraid you don’t, if you’ve done all the resets that they advise and it’s still not working then you’ll have to ignore the floor counts, mine does about 70% of floors which Is about as much use as a chocolate fire guard,it’s a shame as fit bit at this price should be spot on for the size of the company. good luck

Tried the reset. Doesn’t work. Getting a bit annoyed. Had this ionic yesterday. Charged and went through setup wouldn’t count steps. On advice from this community thread I did reset. Eventually after 2 factory resets and a few hours frustration updating software steps started to work. Now won’t count stairs. Tried the reset truck twice. Still won’t work. Only persuded to buy this
instead of Apple on strength of wife’s Charge 3 which worked perfectly straight out of box. Not impreseed

In my opinion if it’s not too late take it back and get the Apple, there’s quite a few flaws with the ionic, doesn’t count floors correctly, doesn’t measure heart beat whilst swimming, doesn’t count lengths correctly whilst swimming if you have to stop half way through a length, sometimes the heart rate monitor stops working, now and then it doesn’t show phone calls or alerts ?

Hi
Yes it’s not quite as good as the adverts say, I get about 70-80% of floor counts on average !! Swimming heart rate doesn’t work but it’s not until you get it up and running that you find this out, don’t get me wrong I like the look of it but it’s no where near the Apple Watch but I guess it’s half the price ? And if you do a fair amount of exercise it will not last you 5 days you’ll get 3 which is still twice what Apple give you but the ionic doesn’t do half the stuff, swings and roundabouts I guess, but good luck.

yesterday i went up and down 3 flights of stairs 3 times during a day. 0 (zero) stairs counted. I didn't see any stairs counted in a couple of months and since then I reseted the device a few times.
i don't understand why you don't just publish an official answer for everyone to read.

All they will tell you is to reset the watch, and then tell you if it’s not a flight of stairs more than 10ft it won’t count it, Fitbit will start losing customers very soon

My brand new Inspire won't count floors either. We have two flights of stairs in our home, one of them a split flight. I read the notation that the floor has to be 10 feet, which is a bit taller than most residential flights, and that may be the issue. But how would it count floors on a gym stair-climber that doesn't gain any altitude? My old Fitbit One had no trouble with stairs.
Of course, it doesn't count steps on a stationary bike either, or partnership dancing. I have ordered an ankle holder that I am hoping will help.

They won't even respond to my emails now. They sent me an email saying to walk two floors up simultaneously and that was it. Wow thanks. It hasn't counted steps since the end if June.
