My Ionic stopped giving me notifications for incoming phone calls and text messages. Why? I tried shutting it down but this has not changed anything and I also checked to see if notification is on and it is. I am baffled.

I would hope that they told you to reboot your Fitbit as well. Although I do not see that in your message does not mean that they asked you too. If you have not, you may want to do this. Also, check to make sure you have all the updates for it as well. Let me know if you have done these and if not, maybe try one more time and let me know how it went.

Ever since I updated the ionic I no longer receive texts. The app shows that notifications are on in both the watch and my iphone7. Any suggestions?

These settings are individual per app. You have to go into Settings > Notifications. The way mine are setup is, "Show Previews" set to Always, then for example, if you go under "Messages" in that list, down under the "Alerts" category, I have to have "Show on Lock Screen" enabled as well as "Show in History". When both of those are enabled, they get sent to the watch. Make sure on the watch your notifications are on as well and you should be good.

Where had you accidentally turned notifications off? On your fitbit or on the ap on your phone?
I still can't get notifications to work. I also can't update my fitbit with different exercise shortcuts. I have turned blue tooth on and off, turned the watch on and off, deleted the ap from my phone and reloaded the ap and my fitbit, I have logged in and out....multitudes of times.

I have all of the same settings that you do, but my messages still do not get to my phone. Argh! I also have an iPhone7.

I never accidentally disabled notifications on the device but it used to be (prior to the recent update) swipe right I think if I remember correctly that Fitbit had as quick access to notifications but seems as though this has been removed. Now you have to get into the settings from the watch itself to enable/disable notifications since the recent Fitbit watch OS update.
The other area you will need to check is in the Fitbit app itself, click on your watch icon in the upper left corner to see its settings in the phone app and you can scroll down to “notifications” and it should be self explanatory from there.
One thing to note is when I updated my watch to the latest recent OS, my notifications were broken (not working at all) after the update. I rebooted the watch itself and all has worked since without issue as it did prior to the update. I didn’t remove/re-add the watch to the phone or anything else. Just rebooted the watch and I’ve been good to go ever since.

Reboot your watch by swiping over to Settings > About > and select Restart or Shutdown (whatever is available, I believe they changed this with the update as well).
To update your device, you have to do that through the phone app itself and is a long process that will take a while... so plan on a good 45-60min.
Note: If you can swipe right and get to screen wake and notifications (or anything for that matter), your watch is on the old OS version and needs the recent update. I would strongly suggest updating the watch.

Hello,
just got off the phone with customer support. the new software has an undocumented feature... Push the left button and hold it down for a couple seconds, it will open up at the wallet, swipe to the right and there is a "Notifications" option; after the upgrade mine defaulted to off. Turned it on and everything is working.

Where is notification found to swipe right?

@SunsetRunner it is no longer a swipe right. You need to press the left button until it vibrates (about a second). You will then have access to Quick Settings, Music Controls and Fitbit Pay (if enabled).

I have an iPhone X and I just replaced my Ionic thinking it was broken...so with a new one and a newly replaced ios app I am still not receiving any notifications except Reminders To Move.I have tried all the fixes mentioned here to no avail whatsoever.
