Notifications Via Wi-Fi

Do you think there will be an update in the near future where you could receive notifications on your Ionic via Wi-fi when your phone is nearby instead of Bluetooth? I would rather receive my notification on Wi-fi while I'm home than bluetooth as it drains my phone battery. Anyone else too?

I'm fairly sure you'll find WiFi will drain the battery even more, currently wifi turns off when not transferring music/apps. To receive notifications efficiently WiFi would have to be on the whole time I'm guessing

The Ionic uses Bluetooth LE, (Low Energy), which provides considerably reduced power consumption while maintaining a similar communication range to BT classic. If you’re worried about battery consumption when on your home network, using WiFi would be the wrong way to go about extending it.
