Hi,
I have been an Ionic owner for several weeks now. I have tried both the Nexus 6 and my wife's Samsung Galaxy S6 Active with the same results; no notification appearing on the Ionic and media controls not working.
I have tried resetting and making sure it is up to date. There has only been one firmware update since I got the device, about two weeks in with no change.
My Blaze, which I just sold would at least get notification and media controls working a quarter of the time. So I expected better from the new post-pebble acquisition device.
Today, I threw on my old Pebble Time Steel, after not wearing it for a few months. All media controls, notifications and other features still work perfectly.
Maybe Fitbit should bring back Pebble OS and use that for all it's devices.
Maybe there is another solution not yet thought but one thing is for sure; while your device design and build quality is awesome, you software end of things is in serious disarray. Using my smartwatch to control any media, especially YouTube being watched, listened too or casted to another device, as well as notifications, should be the fundamental least we get out of a wearable.
Thank you for your time.
Live long and prosper.

I put my old Pebble Time Steel on and it still works perfect. Also, since my Aria "smart" scale has never worked right either, I am saying goodbye to Fitbit and ditching their brand. Going to sell off my Ionic and Aria scale and go back to my Pebble for however long I can.
I still mourn the loss of a Pebble Time 2 Steel, as heart rate monitoring is the ONLY thing my Time Steel watch needs.
Maybe I'll try back in a few months if the bugs are fixed or maybe wait for an Ionic 2. Or perhaps my dream will come true and Fitbit will release a Pebble Time Steel 2.
My Pebble just works. Fitbits just don't.
