On my 5th Fitbit

I had a fitbit charge 2 and the display began to flicker so I called customer service and they offered me a fitbit ionic at a discounted price.

I am now on my second fitbit ionic and the display is flickering on this one too.    They are again sending me a replacement but this is getting ridiculous.   I have tried everything including updating the software but nothing gets rid of the flickering display.   I do not get the watch wet or mistreat it in any way.  In fact, this ionic does not have a scratch on it.   I wake up in the morning and the display starts flickering.   The exact same thing happened to my charge 2.

I am done sending money to fitbit for new watches.  They are sending me another refurbished Ionic and I will see how long that one works.

Also when the display is working when I wear my watch to spin classes and I sweat, the watch no longer reads my pulse.  I try loosening the ban, I try tightening the band, I try moving the watch up my wrist, I try moving the watch down my wrist.

Customer service does send new watches as replacements but I do not consider this an acceptable product when the lifespan of an average fitbit watch is 3-6 months.

If the replacement does not work, then I will get an apple watch and toss all the extra bands and old flickering fitbits in the garbage.

I think it's particularly an issue with the ionic. I have to keep falling back to my charge 2 (ol' dependable) every time it's time to get another ionic. I have a graveyard for them at this point. Maybe Charge 3 is better with more features and the dependability of that OS/hardware they use in it.

I'm not sure the Charge 3 is much more reliable. My son has had one since Christmas '18 and struggles with syncing and time drift.

(And I don't need a moderator/Champion to redirect me to the myriad device compatibility lists or reset the device instructions - I've been in the community long enough to have seen these references one too many times)
