I went through the update recently and thought all was fine, however last night began having trouble syncing: my phone simply doesn't see the FitBit. I tried the usual fixes: turning bluetooth off and on, restarting my phone (Samsung Galaxy 9), and turning the FitBit on and off, and every combination of these, with no success. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app on my phone -- no go. I finally tried disconnecting the fitbit from the app and setting it up again-- still no success getting the app and device to connect. My phone at least does now see the device when I go to bluetooth settings, but I still can't get the FitBit app to see the device when I attempt to set it up. Are there any other solutions? this is really frustrating and has taken way too much of my time to resolve.

I had the same issues. I'm not sure I have the magic wand but here are a couple of things beyond what you already tried that seemed to help for me. (Android phone - Galaxy 7)
1. When you are setting up the Ionic, make sure it is plugged in to a charger.
2. If your phone or is paired with other Blluetooth devices, make sure you unpair them.
3. Restart your phone your Fitbit before you begin pairing. I went a step further on the Ionic by going to "Settings" > "About" > "Shut Down". After you shut down the device you hold the left and lower right buttons on the Ionic until the Fitbit logo appears... this may take 10 - 15 seconds.
And, some possibilities that may help in the general sense...
1. Make sure the shared location setting in your phone is on.
2. Make sure the "Allow Mobile Data" setting in your phone is on.
I hope this helps

Thanks for the tips. I tried the first 3 you mentioned and those didn't work either, but I didn't think of the last 2 so will keep in mind if it happens again.
I finally went scorched earth and reset to factory settings. 😞 Now I have to re-upload my music and redo whatever personalization I had, but at least it's finally resolved.

Glad to hear. It seems the synchronization of the Ionic is a bit more complicated than it needs to be.
Peace..
