Phone comparability

Hi Fitbit im just looking at upgrading my phone so figured id check which is compatible, as my current phone isnt and has stoped me using many of my ionics features for the last 6 or 7 months, fitbits official reply has been "your phone is not compatible"

As it would seem no modern phone is compatible, please update the compatibility list so that its not just a buy and hope when upgrading a phone (both items are expensive and I want to be sure I can use them).

@SlackMo I'm not sure what your asking without any mention of the phone in question it will be hard to respond.

Officially fitbits repply is based on phones that have been tested and found to work or has had the Fitbit app modified to work. With android their is no standard hardware and even some manufacturers modify the IS.

Unofficially there are a lot more phones that do work.

Have you checked the two lists.

Which phones and tablets can I use with my Fitbit watch or tracker?

Learn which phones and tablets are compatible with Fitbit watches and trackers

If you really want to know I would do a community wide search, choose by date, of your phone model.

@Rich_Laue thanks for the response I have indeed tried both lists and its a case of once bitten twice shy, I am currently using the Huawei p10 (flagship phone on start of contract running android 7.0) I havent been able to use wifi, payments, add music or update any apps for months, I dont really want to not get a flagship phone this time around just to use my flagship fitbit product.

After checking both lists all phones listed are at least a year old now and I dont really like the idea of upgrading my phone to risk having the same issues, if fitbits os is so unstable as to not work with all modern phones it would be nice to update their lists with modern hardware (in essence stand by their product) with what new phones will allow it to work as advertised.

Maybe this was the wrong place for this post, it should possibly gone to customer support, however after being passed around from dept to dept without answers for over half a year with no resolution im feeling ( in my opinion justifiably) frustrated with the lack of support on offer for my £300 product, and the lackadaisical attitude towards the bug I am and have been experiencing for the vast majority of the time ive owned my ionic for, and this forum was a less rage inducing place to access.

Thanks for taking the time to respond however im not sure this issue will be resolved short of buying a different brand of smart watch.

Is your phone syncing your ionic?

Yes most of the time, but on sustained connection via Bluetooth it will drop, stopping any updates or install new apps.
