Poor customer service and support

Bought the ionic for my husband for Christmas. 6 months later it will not sync with his phone. Contacted fitbit after 60 minutes on phone them made me do a complete factory reset losing all data on watch (including stored music) watch worked for a week and same issue. Called fitbit back and 52 minutes later they would not offer a refund only a replacement with no upgraded warranty meaning if this issue reoccurred in 6 months I would be out of luck. The amount of money paid for the watch and Fitbit offered no acceptable resolution. As they would not ship a replacement until they received the non functioning watch shipped to them at our cost. So we are without the watch for 15-20 days with no assurance that we will receive a functioning product. They only offer full refunds on they product for 45 days so dont be fooled into thinking you are getting any refund for faulty products. We also researched the fitbit forums and find out now this is a known issue to them and are doing nothing to fix it. Do your research and but a different brand

Agreed.  Add to it that they include this nice little piece in the warranty, which essentially gives them an out anytime they want:

 

Fitbit does not warrant that the operation of the Product will be uninterrupted or error-free. For more information about our warranty policy, please see Fitbit Returns & Warranty

 

So if your Fitbit is acting up and they determine that it's just an operational item, then they don't have to do anything.  Does that sound like a company worth doing business with?

Nope they are not.  We will be moving on from fitbit to a company that will stand behind their products.

For the most part, fitbit's warranty matches up with every other warranty on the market. 

Apple and Garmin have the same 1 year from the original purchase, replacements do not extend. 

 

They like Fitbit also offer an extended warranty that will cover at least one accidental damage incident.

Thanks. Am deciding between Apple Watch 3 and Ionic, and this seals the deal for Apple.
