I'm not very happy with the new app and it's 'premium features'. I spent some not insignificant money on this smart watch and didn't expect to be nickel and dimed by some kind of subscription. If this remains I can promise both my wife and I will not buy fitbit again. I won't be happy about it but I'm not paying a subscription to use my watch. I'm very disappointed.

Without Premium,you still have access to everything that was available before.
Q: Have any previously existing Fitbit features moved behind a Premium paywall?
A: No. All the Fitbit app features you enjoyed before Premium are still available for free, and we’ll continue to add new free features in the future. Fitbit Premium adds new paid features, but does not remove any previously free features.

I didn't pay money for my watch to collect stats and then have them selectively add more stats that they're collecting and offer to sell them back to me. There is no way that I should have to pay $10 a month to use all the features that my watch has and I also think that it's improper for them to have that data and not share it.
