Problems: Unable to update tracker, still indicating update available, takes all day, using USB dongle on Windows 10 using Fitbit app for Windows
Experience: Repeated update many times and never worked. Took four to eight hours each time, progress bar hard to see and might have been restarting process. Using a PC (Windows 10) with dongle. Settings on dashboard greyed out. Very frustrating. Watch is being powered and at 100% the entire time. Watch placed near dongle.
Conclusion: Watch unable to make a good connection with the dongle. Either poor design or manufacturing issue as I have had this problem from the time of purchase. PC app probably not being maintained as there is no clear explanation for the greyed out settings.
The Key Solutions: 1. Use the web app (https://www.fitbit.com/settings/guides/ionic) or the phone app instead of the PC app. 2. Use bluetooth instead of dongle. Make sure bluetooth is on (type bluetooth in windows search bar, run Windows app to set), or use phone bluetooth. On PC, in Fitbit app, you may need to "setup device" which will then eventually prompt you to turn on bluetooth. If using PC app, then you may need to click the icon in the upper right that looks like a license to find watch apps, and these can only be loaded after the updates are made via the bluetooth connection.

Does your computer have a built in Bluetooth?
Are you using a Fitbit dongle or another one.
Did you try starting the computer up without the dongle, then when fully up, plugged in the dongle?
