Quick reply not working for text messages

Long story short and a new watch later. I've found that everything now works but the quick reply from Oppo r17pro messages  it doesn't give the option for a reply. However if I'm using the WhatsApp it does let me reply.  So my question is if it works for WhatsApp why won't it work for messages

@Southie It's great to see you around. Thanks for the details mentioned.

I appreciate that you shared the phone you're using. Quick replies feature is currently available on devices paired to an Android phone (7.0+). Apps that allow you to reply to a message directly from the notification on your Android phone also support quick replies on your Fitbit device. This includes, but isn’t limited to, apps such as:

  • Text messages
  • Twitter
  • Facebook Messenger
  • Line

I would like you to confirm that you've set them in your phone in order to properly use them:

  1. In the Fitbit app, tap the Today tab

, and tap your profile picture.
  2. Tap your device image > Notifications > Quick Replies.
  3. Tap the app you want to change the quick replies for. To change the default quick replies for all apps, tap Default Replies.
  4. Tap the reply you want to change and enter the text you want to use instead. Replies are limited to 60 characters.
  5. Tap the back arrow to return to the list of apps and automatically save your changes.
  6. Sync your device. The next time you receive a message notification from that app, your new reply is included in the list of quick replies on your device.

Let me know how it goes. I'll be around if you need further assistance.

I can now also confirm that if I receive a text message from either an iPhone or Android the feature doesn't work. It doesn't give me the option to quick reply. However the WhatsApp app works everytime.

@Southie Thanks for letting me know that you've tried with iPhone and Android.

I would like you to log out from the app and force quit it. After this please try the testing it again and check if you get the option to send quick replies when you receive text messages. Could you please send a screenshot of what you're seeing in your quick reply settings from text messages?

Keep me posted.

@Southie Thanks for the screenshots attached.

It's pretty weird that you're only seeing WhatsApp instead of seeing the message. In this case, I've shared your post with our Support team and they will continue assisting you.

I'll be around if you have any additional questions.

@Southie I'm having the same problem with my messaging app, did you find a solution?

No unfortunately Fitbit have told me they are working on this. But that was a year ago and I havent heard anything from them. The only way I was able to use the quick reply was from WhatsUp or Facebook messages also I noticed that if someone rang and didn't answer the call it would come up as a missed call on the watch so I could then click quick reply and it would work just for that call. I wish they would fix this issue as it's really annoying.

I've just purchased a Sense and speaking with FB currently. My problem is different as it seems I can use Quick Replies on most apps, but not Gmail.

Equally as frustrating as I keep getting sent to the standard fixings but this seems a deeper problem than just clicking a button on my phone.

My guess is that with so many difference devices on the market now each one presents a different challenge. What worries me though is people are having problems going back a year.
